Leave. Get away. Go. Breathe with Mother Nature.

“Do not hold your breath for anyone,

Do not wish your lungs to be still,

It may delay the cracks from spreading,

But eventually they will.

Sometimes to keep yourself together

You must allow yourself to leave,

Even if breaking your own heart

Is what it takes to let you breathe.”

The above poem evokes a familiar feeling, one I feel every day, and surely one which most people often experience. Any emotionally intelligent person has the right to want to leave sometimes, to get away from it all. That is a feeling which is ingrained in every human being who has evolved from roaming the Savannas or battling the glacial land encroaches of the ice ages. Movement is life. Or as the Spanish phrase goes; “el movimiento es vida”.

“Aristotle begins by stating his thesis that movement is eternal with the following reasoning: each type of movement requires the existence of things that can do it, things that are either generated or are eternal.” In short, our interpretation of Aristotle’s thesis is; if you are so endowed with the freedom of movement, then take advantage of it.

Speaking of eternal things. As I sit here writing this on my sunny balcony overlooking the Colorado Rocky Mountains from Denver (image above), I am reminded of how lucky I am to not require much movement in order to bear witness to nature’s majesty. I believe, as we as a team at Space Innovation Labs believe, that simply observing these unbelievably magnificent mountain ranges or any raw untapped nature is as close to heavenly beauty on this earth as any of us will see while alive on this planet.

Let us all remind ourselves of that, juxtaposed with the realization that while there are really hard issues in life, nature’s beauty will always be there to coddle, cleanse and revitalize our souls.

The genesis of the Tail Table as well as our mission with Space Innovation Labs is to provide people the tools and a platform to facilitate more of the much-needed natural relief we all need. Whatever you choose to go and see or go and do, allow yourself to be in awe. Be in awe like a child to the wonders of our planet and the complexity of the natural world. Let it humble your problems or worries.

Whether you choose to bask in more sunsets or take in more mountain hikes with exhilarating summits allow yourself more time to get away into an environment of natural simplicity, even if it is from your window view or appreciating the green of your front yard or local park.

At Space Innovation Labs, what pulls us forward is hearing stories from you of how the Tail Table will facilitate or inspire you to get outside and let the sun cleanse you more often. If there is no sun that day then find a quiet peaceful wind on your face. Go solo or get outside with your friends and family. Talk, or be silent listening only to hear the wind through the trees. Listen to others or listen only to your own heart and soul. However, you choose to imbibe nature's beauty and process it. We hope you “allow yourself to leave if that is what you need to breathe”, to get away, to enjoy the simplicity of our beautiful world.

Share your story of adventure and what drives you to get outside more often.
